Vanuit Grand Canyon Village rijdt gratis shuttlebus over Hermit Road. De complete route neemt 75 minuten in beslag wanneer je niet uitstapt. Op de heenweg stopt bus bij alle haltes, maar op terugweg slechts bij drie uitzichtpunten. Favoriete stops: Hopi Point (zonsondergang, toiletten), Powell Point, The Abyss (zicht steil naar beneden)en Pima Point (zicht op Colorado River). Van Hopi Point tot Powell Point ligt een mooie en korte wandelroute.
Rim Trail (totaal 21 km, geasfalteerd, shuttles) loopt van Hermits Rest tot de South Kaibab Trailhead. Het beste deel loopt van de Bright Angel Lodge naar de South Kaibab Trailhead.

De combinatie van de Navajo Loop Trail, de Queens Garden Trail en de Rim Trail is wat mij betreft de mooiste wandeling in Bryce Canyon. Deze route begint bij Sunset Point en is in totaal iets minder dan 5 kilometer lang. Tijdens de route zul je echter vaak vrij steil naar beneden of juist omhoog moeten lopen. Trek daarom zeker een aantal uur uit om deze route te lopen. Ben je wat slechter ter been, dan raad ik je aan om enkel de Rim Trail te lopen.

De Golden Gate Bridge is natuurlijk hét icoon van San Francisco. Naast de eerder genoemde fiets-en boottocht, zijn er nog meer plekken waar je deze brug goed op de foto kunt krijgen. Dit is soms nog best een uitdaging. Op veel momenten is de brug namelijk vrijwel onzichtbaar door de wolken en mist. Meestal hangen de wolken echter maar aan een kant van de brug, waardoor er altijd wel een uitzichtpunt is waar je wel een goed zicht hebt op deze iconische brug. Vanuit San Francisco zelf heb je het beste uitzicht bij Crissy Field of bij Marshall’s Beach, afhankelijk van waar de mist hangt. Wanneer je de brug oversteekt, kun je omhoog lopen of fietsen naar Battery Spencer, waar je ook een geweldig uitzicht hebt op de brug en de stad. Is het bij Battery Spencer te mistig? Loop of fiets dan naar de Moore Road Pier om de brug vanaf de andere kant te bezichtigen.
