It's busier than Udine, it's a cosmopolitan city.
Udine has an interesting medieval historic centre. It's nearby mountain and hill areas, San Daniele (I like prosciutto😋) Cividale😍
If you don't want to stay in a big city, choose Cividale, it's very characteristic with its Lombard monuments👍
